About Mr. Kroeger
I was born in Norfolk, Nebraska. I lived in several places within Nebraska before starting kindergarten in Blue Earth, Minnesota. One final move happened right before I started 4th grade to Parkston, South Dakota, where I ended up graduating from.
I didn't know I was going to pursue a Music Education degree until Danny Eye became my band director during my junior year of high school. In this time, I participated in marching band, pep band, jazz band, concert band, and helped create the short-lived Stick Shot drumline.

After graduating from Parkston High School in 2007, I decided to follow Mr. Eye's footsteps by going to South Dakota State University. Here I studied under Dr. Aaron Ragsdale who opened my eyes to lots of out-of-the-box thinking. I played tenors in the PRIDE drumline and marching band for five years. Many trips were taken with this group, but the two biggest events I was able to participate in were The Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California (freshman year) and the Fresh from Florida Parade in Orlando (super senior year). I also participated in Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble for four years, and was a part of Kappa Kappa Psi.
I also marched in the Su Fu Du drumline for five seasons (2008-2012), one season on cymbals and four seasons on tenors. Many great experiences and memories were made in this group. I received the Rookie of the Year award (2008), Most Improved award (2009), and was Tenor Section Leader my final season (2012).
In the fall of 2011, I was selected by Luke Sursely to be Madison High School's Drumline Technician and Percussion Private Lesson Instructor. I have modeled much of what I do after this program because I have worked very closely with Luke over the past three years.
In the spring of 2012, I student taught under Jon Loy (high school) and Mike Andersen (middle school) at Worthington School District in Worthington, Minnesota. Both run extremely excellent band programs and have given me ideas on how to run a band program. While I was student teaching in the high school, I started a percussion ensemble for Solo-Ensemble Contest that year.
Upon graduating from SDSU in the spring of 2012, I was hired to be the new 5th through 12th band director for Sanborn Central and Woonsocket school districts in South Dakota. We have accomplished a great deal in my first few years of teaching, such as adding a jazz band, winter drumline, as well as a winterguard.
In the Summer of 2014, I completed my Master of Music Education degree from Northern State University.
Other organizations I am involved in:
Madison High School Head Percussion Technician and Private Percussion Instructor (fall of 2011- present)
2012-present Su Fu Du Alumni Representative
Worthington High School Drumline Technician Summer of 2013
Composing and Arranging music for many schools and programs in the Midwest
